Exactly one year ago today, I was released from the Adrian Regional Facility after serving an 18 months sentence for acting like a felonious idiot. While waiting in the rain for a bus ride to a 3/4 house Pontiac at the corner of nihilism & redemption– specific details of what the future held were murky at best. By grace alone and in spite of uncertainty, Hope Burned Brightly.
It’s been one wild ride of a year.
Today, I’ve been invited to Lansing to speak with lawmakers about repealing a draconian Juvenile Lifer Law & the so-called Truth In Sentencing statute. After that, it’s on to Ann Arbor for the Prison Creative Arts Program literary review committee meeting. Guess it’s time to bust out a sport coat.
O’ wait, I don’t have one. 🙂
Absolutely no horn-blowing intended. Father is all about restoring that which the locusts have consumed and sure has a sense of humor.
Thanks for hanging in Timmy & Josh. You are a couple of tough, young hombre’s.
O’ God, I’m so grateful…it’s hard to sleep.
